Terry Jacques

Terry has been involved in the audience development and public relations aspect of theatre for 19 years and in the battered womens' and anti-rape movements for 21 years. Within the latter, she began as a volunteer and eventually became the assistant director of a domestic violence/sexual assault program. Over the years, she supervised legal advocacy, medical advocacy, older battered women and job readiness components, most of which included extensive development of educational materials and trainings. Her experience in education and awareness building, include teaching high school English, developing and presenting job readiness classes to low-income women, and designing and conducting domestic violence/sexual assault workshops. She is a trained diversity trainer and has facilitated sessions throughout the community. Her publicity and education skills have intersected in the development and design of a variety of manuals, handouts and newsletters dealing with the many aspects of violence against women.
